Referral bonus was great

I was looking for a new job and saw they had a referral bonus. A friend referred me and I ended up getting a $75 bonus after I worked a few assignments as a paraprofessional. That extra money made a difference. The sign-up process was a bit long with all the paperwork, but getting that bonus felt worth the effort. It was a good deal for me.

Reliable staffing services

I've used Kelly Education for school nurse staffing a few times now, probably three or four orders over the past year. They're pretty consistent with finding qualified people for our district. This last time, for a long term substitute placement, they found someone in about two weeks, which is decent. Their automated absence management system has always worked well for us. I keep coming back because I know what to expect and they usually deliver on time, unlike some other agencies we tried in the past.

Good substitute placement

I got placed as a substitute teacher quickly. The background check process was smooth enough, took about 10 days to clear. Started working the next week. No issues with payroll yet.

What's the deal with getting paid? Is it weekly or bi-weekly? Do they do direct deposit?

M Mary Allen 1 week ago
They do direct deposit, thank goodness. I get paid weekly, usually on Fridays for the previous week's work.

Yep, direct deposit. Most people get paid weekly, but it might vary slightly depending on your district's payroll cycle. Never had an issue getting my money on time though.

I'm looking at Kelly Education but also checking out ESS. How does Kelly stack up against them for substitute work?

M Michelle Phillips 3 weeks ago
I've worked for both. Kelly Ed tends to have more districts available in my area, but ESS sometimes had slightly better pay for certain roles. It really depends on your location.

Honestly, Kelly Ed's training programs were better for me starting out. ESS was okay, but I felt more prepared with Kelly. Plus, I found their support staff easier to reach.

Hey, thinking about signing up as a substitute. Are there any like, bonuses for new people?

A Alex Gomez 1 month ago
Yeah, I think they sometimes have a new hire bonus. Mine was like 50 bucks after I did my first few assignments.

Not always a sign-up bonus, but they def do referral bonuses. If you know someone already working for them, they can refer you and you both get something if you stick with it for a bit.

Anyone know how the referral bonus works? My friend said she could refer me for a teaching gig, but idk what the actual payout is.

E Elizabeth 1 week ago
It can vary, but I got 100 bucks when I referred someone last year. It usually depends on the specific need in your area and if the person you referred completes enough work.

Mine was 50 bucks. Your friend should have a referral code from their portal, and you put that in when you apply, then after you work so many days, they get paid.
